I am a native of the Gambia in West Africa, embarked on a transformative journey that traversed continents and diverse career landscapes. Educated in England, he earned a degree in Business Management with a focus on Financial Management and Economics from Solent University in Southampton. Subsequently, he ventured to the United States, immersing himself in various roles within the tech industry around the Silicon Valley in California. Despite a career in the tech world, Albere’s heart gravitated back to my early passion for storytelling. I transitioned to writing and illustrating, capturing the poignant and real-life experiences of the Gambian people during the 22-year rule of former Dictator Yahya Jammeh. Using the pen name “Our Economist,” i contributed to several online newspapers, including Freedom Newspaper, Fatu Network, and Mafanta, shedding light on the realities faced by Gambians during this period. Currently residing in the Santa Clara County within the Silicon Valley.
