Book summary

This book is about the five ascension spiritual gifts given by Jesus to the church after His ascension to heaven. These grace gifts are to prepare and equip God’s people for the works of service, so that the Body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:12-13). In the current set up most churches have made one gift ,specifically the pastor, to dominate church affairs leading to spiritual deficiency and malnutrition. Moreover, the spiritual gifts have been either rejected, undermined ,down graded ,mismanaged ,over-managed or abused hence denying the church the opportunity to grow to maturity. There is also the presence of selfishness among church leaders. These scenario has led to rampant conflicts, tension and divisions among apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers in the body of Christ which is not spiritually healthy at all. Churches throughout ages have had divisions because people take positions, authority and possession of that which only belongs to Christ. The Hierarchical structure finds its origin in the world, not in God’s design for the Body since Jesus is the Head of the church .
