Days Of Ajwala

How did your writing journey begin?
It began during my primary school days when I was introduced to music and poetry training for performances in the Kenya Music Festivals where we were encouraged to write for the own composition category.

What inspires you to keep writing?
The richness of daily life experiences that come along with a myriad of emotions leaves me itching to pick up my pen and document every moment.

Tell us about what inspired you to write this book
After participating in a number of poetry submissions for unpublished manuscripts, I met my friend Tim Mwangi who encouraged me to write and publish a book and especially enabled me to do so through Africa’s leading publishing company Xania Digital Bookstore.

Any other information
I've subsequently gone ahead and published a second book on love called 'Barua Kwa Binti': A collection of Swahili and English love poems I've written since my university days. A third book is in the offing called 'Rubies and Diamonds': An anthology of 80 great poetry pieces by poets Ruth Kimani, seasoned poet Halimah Menni (author of the Kazi Handbook) and I.
