About this book
Book summary
These poems began with a prompt and a community. Throughout 2025, readers on Instagram offered a word or phrase, and Halimah Menni wrote a poem.
What began as a monthly conversation became something neither expected: a record of the human soul in different seasons.
And She Tried moves through grief and awakening, faith and doubt, identity and belonging, arriving, finally, at fragile, hard-won hope.
Somewhere in these pages, you will find yourself.
