The Remnants

Author Mirigo Kinyanjui

The Remnants is about a young man in the prime of his youth (mwanake wa ita – warrior in Gikuyu), who is fearless despite his young age. He symbolises many in their youth who are always at the frontline to protect or protest when they feel threatened. Some of them die due to their carefree lives, but he is among the ‘remnants’ who survive their youth until the day of their reckoning. The book discusses the many challenges a man faces in life to put a meal on the table as he also seeks to discover himself.
