Transition

Author Mirigo Kinyanjui

Naila’s is a story of triumph. She was rejected by her mother and stepfather and was brought up by her grandfather Smith, a white businessman and plantation owner in Timau, Kenya. She learns at his feet and eventually becomes deeply involved in running his businesses and helps grow them into bluechip companies. As her widowed grandpa ages, she is concerned that he is too lonely and wants to keep close to him. This leaves her torn between her loyalty for the grandfather and marrying the love of her life, Leonne. She has to choose one or the other. Transition is a captivating tale of entwined love relationships with twists that include murders and unexpected ghost women, even as Naila tussles with her stepfather, Morgan, over inheritance after Grandpa Smith’s death. It is among the book’s intrigues that Naila should go by the nickname Miss Morgan, borrowing her hateful stepfather’s name.
